We Do Not Grieve Like the Rest of Mankind

It is with sad yet peace-filled hearts that we share with you today that Mr. James MacLean, former Board President of Boys and Girls Christian Home Ministries, entered the presence of our Lord and Savior last evening, April 7, 2020, due to complications from the coronavirus. In sharing the news with us, his widow and bride of 63 years, Kathy, wrote, "I am overwhelmed with grief, but am thankful for God's faithfulness to us and to me over these 63 years. We celebrate the life of a faithful servant who is now experiencing the truth of 1 Corinthians 2:9 and we know that we will see him again. How soon? Only our Heavenly Father knows. And He makes no mistakes."

Mr. MacLean first became familiar with Morning Cheer and the George Palmer family shortly on or before 1957 while he was still in law school. That association with Morning Cheer continued through the boys' orphanage, then BCH (Boys' Christian Home), which originally was located in Dhond, India. With the able assistance of Tom Major, Jim and Tom traveled to India, identified and bought a new tract of land in Chandur Bazar to which the campus was relocated, and arranged to form an autonomous Board of Trustees and leadership for the operations of the home. The new campus and facility were built and the ministry has continued to grow and flourish to this day. After serving and ministering through leadership of BCH/BGCH for nearly 60 years, Mr. MacLean resigned his position as BGCHM Board President in 2018 and strived to make many wonderful memories with Kathy as they enjoyed retirement together.

Please keep Kathy and the rest of their family in your prayers. Hug your loved ones tightly tonight. And know the peace of 1Thessalonians 4:13 and 14. We grieve...but with hope.
