BOYS AND GIRLS CHRISTIAN HOME MINISTRIES
We Believe
We believe in the call of Psalm 82:3-4, "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy."
Our MissioN
It is our desire to care for poor and vulnerable children who are in need of a stable home. We desire to love them, teach them, and help them grow into men and women who will break the cycle of brokenness and poverty.
Our HomE
BGCH is home to 200 children who have come to us looking for hope. Children receive 3 meals a day, clean water, clothes, a bed, and an education. These simple provisions, along with loving care, provide the stability children need to learn and grow.
About Us
During a time of great famine and disease, Boys Christian Home was founded in 1899, by a couple named Albert and Mary Norton. The Norton family, along with many others, made great sacrifices to care for hundreds of boys. In the late 1950's and early 1960's many in the States were introduced to BGCH through Dr. George Palmer and Morning Cheer Ministries. It was under Bob Palmer's leadership that our home was opened to girls in 1992.
In 124 years, thousands of children have been loved and cared for at BGCH. Each comes with his or her own story. It is our hope that at BGCH, each child learns and grows in a way that will change the course of their life for the better.
Boys and Girls Christian Home has seen many seasons, all in which God remained faithful. We wait with anticipation and trust in His continued faithfulness for the days and years ahead.
